Do you need a doctor’s prescription to consult a physiotherapist?
No. It is not necessary. However, some insurance policies require a prescription in order for reimbursement to occur. You will need to check your individual insurance policy to confirm the specific requirements. We provide receipts for each appointment which can be used for either insurance or income tax purposes.
What can I expect from a physiotherapy sessions at Home+ Physiotherapy?
During your first appointment with In your initial meeting with a physiotherapist, they’ll assess your overall health and the specific issue you’re dealing with, considering your medical history, current health problems, medications, and past treatments. Through physical tests, the physiotherapist will analyze your condition, allowing them to propose a personalized treatment plan, which may include education, exercises, and practical advice. They might also suggest daily exercises to aid recovery or prevent further issues, often requiring minimal equipment for functional rehabilitation.
What measures do you have in place for the safety of patients?
In order to provide a safe and pleasant experience to our patients, we disinfect all equipment before use and between patients. Additionally, we wash our hands before and after each consultation and provide a fresh towel and pillowcase for each appointment, as needed. If you would prefer the therapist to wear a mask, this can be arranged at no additional cost.
How far do you travel?
We travel anywhere on the island of Montreal. The fee for displacement is included in the price shown. For the island of Laval and the municipalities of Longueuil and Brossard, an additional 25$ fee will apply to each appointment. Please discuss with us in advance for appointments outside the island of Montreal.
What methods of payment are accepted?
We accept the following methods of payment: etransfer, cheque MasterCard and Visa. Payment is due in full right after receipt of services.
What is the difference between in-person physiotherapy and a virtual appointment?
In-person physiotherapy involves direct, hands-on care in a clinical setting, allowing for physical assessments and immediate feedback. Telerehabilitation, conducted remotely through video calls, relies on visual assessments and emphasizes self-management. While suitable for certain conditions, it may lack hands-on interventions and access to specialized equipment. The choice depends on the nature of the condition and individual preferences. Long Covid syndrome is a great example of a condition that can benefit from virtual visits.
Who can benefit from home physiotherapy?
At-home therapy can be provided to anyone with loss of mobility or functional autonomy or those who prefer to be seen in the comfort and convenience of their own space.
Do you offer paediatric or pelvic floor therapies?
At the moment, we do not offer these speciality services at Home+ Physiotherapy. Please contact us if you have a question about our service offerings.
What is included in the price of an appointment?
The price shown includes a 60 minute physiotherapy consultation as well as the travel to your space. Exceptionally, requests outside of our designated territory are charged an extra travel fee. Additionally, physiotherapy is a tax-free service. Knowing this, the price you see is the price you will pay. No hidden fees.
What is your cancellation policy?
For cancellations from 24h to 4h before the appointment, there will be a 60$ fee applied to the file. For less than 4h of notice before the appointment, the full price of the visit will be charged.
